The first four codes constitute the primary categories of analysis. They classify planks according to whether they promote
FREEDOM, ORDER, EQUALITY, or PUBLIC GOODS.
The second set of four codes are secondary categories with fewer implications for domestic politics, especially foreign policy, and figure less prominently in the book's analysis
