values, which are represented by the blue line. Ignore
the gap between the red and blue lines and concentrate on
how closely the red line centers toward 0. The closer to
0, the less the deviation of a country's observed score
on Rule of Law from its predicted score.
- Lithuania deviated only 0.01 from its predicted score
of 0.48, yielding an observed score of 0.49.
- Denmark, however, scored 0.83 above its predicted
score of 1.12 for its observed score of 1.95.
- All the countries in Northern Europe had both
predicted and observed scores greater than 0.
