- The red line measures deviations from predicted
values, which are represented by the blue line. Ignore
the gap between the red and blue lines and concentrate on
how closely the red line centers toward 0. The closer to
0, the less the deviation of a country's observed score
on Rule of Law from its predicted score.
- For example, Anguilla's predicted score for Rule of
Law was 0.76 (obscured in the graph), but it actually
scored -1.70, for a positive deviation of 0.94.
- In contrast, Martinique's predicted score of 0.79 was
virtually the same as its observed score of 0..89,
resulting in a deviation of only 0.10.
- Only Anguilla and Saint Lucia scored substantially
more than predicted for Rule of Law. Several countries
performed substantially worse.
